Home Depot Foundation Awards Skilled Trades Scholarships
The Home Depot Foundation has launched a program called Path to Pro Scholarship to help address the shortage of skilled tradespeople in the US. The scholarship is administered through the SKILLED Nation and awards close to $2,500 to students training for careers like electrician, plumber, or HVAC technician.
The program aims to provide financial assistance to those who are planning to enroll or are already enrolled in an accredited trade or vocational program in the US. To be eligible, applicants must be a high school senior, graduate, or have a GED, and be a U.S. resident of one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.
The Path to Pro scholarships are paid straight to the school or training center once the student has enrolled, and they generally need to use it within a year of being accepted. The application deadline is quarterly, with batches reviewed in March, June, September, and December.
