Home Depot Foundation Launches Nationwide Campaign to Support Veterans
The Home Depot Foundation has launched its annual Celebration of Service campaign, dedicating this fall season to Helping Heroes at Home. The campaign runs from September 8 through November 20, 2026, and spans from Patriot Day to Veterans Day.
This year, the Foundation is partnering with hundreds of nonprofits to host veteran housing projects in all 50 states and three U.S. territories, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The campaign aims to address staggering national statistics: nearly 33,000 veterans face homelessness on any given night, over 2.75 million live in inadequate housing, and more than one million post-9/11 veterans live with a service-connected disability.
The Home Depot Foundation prioritizes physical improvements to veteran housing facilities, creating environments that foster recovery and community integration for those exiting homelessness. For veterans living with catastrophic injuries, the organization works alongside nonprofit partners to provide mortgage-free smart homes or smart home modifications. Meanwhile, senior, low-income or disabled veterans receive critical home repairs, such as ADA-compliant ramp installations or accessible bathroom upgrades.
