Home Depot Legend Vic Catalano Sr. Passes Away After Decades of Service
Vic Catalano Sr., a veteran and devoted family man, left an indelible mark on those around him. Born in Sharon, Connecticut to Italian immigrants, Vic developed a love for sports that lasted throughout his life, particularly baseball and football.
After serving as an Army Small Arms Specialist during the Vietnam War, Vic embarked on a career on Wall Street before moving to Monticello, New York, where he worked at the Concord Resort Hotel for 20 years. He also spent nearly two decades working at the Home Depot paint department until his retirement at 81.
Vic's true love was his wife Arlene, whom he married for 57 years and with whom he raised five children. After her passing in 2024, Vic continued to be a pillar of support for his family, always eager to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. His legacy extends beyond his immediate family, as he made friends easily and was well-loved by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to local animal shelters in Vic's honor.
