Home Depot Posts Strong Second Quarter Results Amid Broad-Based Demand
The Home Depot reported a strong second quarter for fiscal 2026, with sales reaching $47.9 billion, a 5.7% increase from the same period in fiscal 2025.
Comparable sales for the second quarter of fiscal 2026 increased by 1.7%, while comparable sales in the US rose by 1.3%. Net earnings were $4.8 billion, or $4.79 per diluted share, compared to $4.6 billion and $4.58 per diluted share in the same period of fiscal 2025.
The company's adjusted diluted earnings per share for the second quarter of fiscal 2026 were $4.92, up from $4.68 in the same period of fiscal 2025. Home Depot's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Richard McPhail, attributed the strong results to 'broad-based demand across the business'.
The company reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance, which includes total sales growth of approximately 2.5% to 4.5%, comparable sales growth of flat to 2.0%, and adjusted diluted earnings-per-share growth of flat to 4.0% from $14.23 in fiscal 2025.
The Home Depot will conduct a conference call today at 9 a.m. ET to discuss the second quarter results and related matters.
