Home Depot Q2 Earnings Top Expectations, Guidance Remains Steady
Home Depot's stock price remained steady after its Q2 2026 earnings report exceeded analyst forecasts, with sales and earnings per share growth of 5.7% and 5.1%, respectively.
The company reported $47.86 billion in revenue for the quarter, surpassing expectations centered at $47.2-$47.3 billion, and adjusted earnings per share of $4.92, up from $4.68 a year earlier.
Despite this strong performance, Home Depot chose to reaffirm rather than raise its full-year 2026 guidance, which projects total sales growth of 2.5-4.5% for the fiscal year.
The decision to hold guidance steady suggests that management views the housing and remodeling backdrop as still constrained by high borrowing costs and record home prices, particularly for large-scale discretionary projects.
