A shoplifting incident at Home Depot in Copley led to a high-speed police pursuit from Fairlawn to Brecksville on September 9.

According to a news release from Copley Interim Chief of Police Mike Yovanno, two suspects fled the store and attempted to leave the area in a silver pickup truck.

A Copley officer initiated a traffic stop on Medina Road, but the driver refused to pull over.

The officer then pursued the vehicle, joined by the Richfield Police Department, which employed pursuit termination techniques.

The chase ended on Interstate 77 north in Brecksville after the suspects crashed near Oakes Road.
