Home Depot Stock Drops as CEO Takes Medical Leave
Home Depot's stock price fell 2.7% on Wednesday after CEO Ted Decker announced he will take a temporary medical leave of absence. The company expects Decker to return within the next few months, but did not specify an exact date.
The board of directors has appointed Ann-Marie Campbell, senior EVP, and Richard McPhail, EVP and CFO, to oversee operations during Decker's absence. Campbell will provide oversight of Home Depot's day-to-day operations, while McPhail will focus on financial management and the company's Pro subsidiaries.
The independent lead director, Greg Brenneman, will chair the board during Decker's leave. Both Campbell and McPhail have over 20 years of experience working together at Home Depot.
