Home Depot Stock Tumbles as CEO Ted Decker Takes Medical Leave
Home Depot's stock price fell by more than 2% on Wednesday after the company announced that CEO Ted Decker will take a temporary medical leave of absence. This news comes ahead of Home Depot's upcoming earnings report scheduled for August 18, 2026. During Decker's absence, Senior Executive Vice President Ann-Marie Campbell will oversee day-to-day operations, while Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Richard McPhail will handle financial management and the company's Pro subsidiaries.
Independent lead director Greg Brenneman stated that they are 'confident in Ann-Marie's and Richard's ability to lead the company during this time,' and look forward to Decker's return. Home Depot operates over 2,361 retail stores and has more than 1,280 SRS locations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, employing over 470,000 associates.
