Home Depot Surpasses Estimates with Strong Q2 Results
Home Depot Inc., trading under the ticker NYSE:HD, beat analyst estimates for its fiscal second-quarter 2026 revenue and adjusted earnings. The company reported a 5.7% year-over-year increase in sales to $47.861 billion.
The average order value increased by 2.8%, while total customer transactions declined by 0.8% to 443.2 million. Chief Financial Officer Richard McPhail attributed the strong results to broad-based demand for smaller home improvement projects.
Home Depot's operating income rose 4.3% to $6.839 billion, but its GAAP operating margin narrowed to 14.3%. The company also received $730 million in tariff refunds during the second quarter, which reduced its cost of goods sold by $685 million.
