Home Depot Surpasses Q2 Earnings Expectations Amid Broad-Based Demand
Home Depot's second-quarter earnings results exceeded expectations as sales rose 5.7% to $47.9 billion, driven by broad-based demand across its business. The company saw positive comparable sales in its Northern and Western U.S. divisions, Canada, and Mexico.
Of Home Depot's 16 merchandising departments, 13 posted positive comparable sales during the quarter. These included storage, electrical, hardware, power, plumbing, indoor garden, kitchen, paint, bath, outdoor garden, building materials, flooring, and millwork.
The company's digital platform also performed well, with total online comparable sales rising 11% in Q2. Home Depot is investing in store operations, technology, and on-shelf availability, which has led to record on-shelf levels.
