Home Depot's Decker Takes Leave, Campell and McPhail Step In
Home Depot's CEO Ted Decker is taking a temporary medical leave of absence for several months. To ensure continuity, two senior executives will take charge during his absence. Ann-Marie Campbell, Executive Vice President of U.S. stores and operations, will oversee day-to-day operations. She joined the company in 1985 as a cashier and rose through the ranks to become EVP. Meanwhile, Richard McPhail, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will run financial management and the Pro subsidiaries.
Campbell and McPhail have been working together for over 20 years and are considered strong, seasoned executives by lead director Greg Brenneman. Brenneman is confident in their ability to lead the company during this time and looks forward to Decker's return. Home Depot operates 2,361 retail stores and over 1,280 SRS locations across all 50 states and employs over 470,000 associates.
