Home Depot's Free Delivery Scam Exposed
A viral video has brought attention to a pricing discrepancy at Home Depot, where the price of a cabinet increased by $54 when switching from in-store pickup to delivery, despite both options being labeled as 'free'. The incident was shared on X by @WallStreetApes and shows a woman ordering cabinets with her partner. She notices that the price of the 36-inch base cabinet increases from $260 to $314 when selecting delivery instead of pickup.
The couple lives approximately two miles from the Home Depot location, but the account sharing the video notes that distance is not an obvious explanation for the price difference. The checkout page already reflected their location and applied discounts before the price change occurred.
Others have come forward with similar experiences at other retailers, describing 'pricing inconsistencies' and even comparing prices between pump stickers and cash register screens at gas stations.
Some commenters questioned whether such pricing behavior could persist unnoticed, while others suggested that delivery logistics might be responsible for the price difference. However, Home Depot has not acknowledged or issued a statement regarding the incident as of publication.
