Home Depot's Giant Skeleton Gets High-Tech Makeover
Home Depot's giant 12-foot skeleton, known as Skelly, has become an internet sensation since its debut in 2020. At that time, it was a welcome distraction from the COVID-19 pandemic and helped turn Home Depot into a Halloween destination.
The company calls this period a turning point for its Halloween business. Since then, people have started to display their skeletons year-round, dressing them up as various characters like Santa or Uncle Sam.
This year, Home Depot is offering two 12-foot Skelly options: the classic version at $299 and a deluxe app-controlled version with animatronic features, Bluetooth connectivity, and voice-changing effects for $379.
The new deluxe model allows owners to record and store up to 30 sounds and can even be controlled remotely. It's now possible to have your skeleton talk to neighbors using the built-in voice-changing effects.
