Home Depot's Upgraded AI Assistant Delivers Smarter In-Store Shopping Experience
The Home Depot has upgraded its AI-powered shopping assistant, Magic Apron, to provide more in-store assistance to customers. The updated version can help determine if a product is suitable for its intended use and recommend tools and supplies needed to complete a task.
Shoppers using the AI assistant can now interact with it in their preferred language, ask questions via text or voice-to-text, upload pictures, and even access maps of specific stores to quickly locate products. They can also check product availability at their chosen store and others.
Magic Apron has already fielded millions of questions per month, helping customers locate products, receive project guidance, and get answers tailored to their local Home Depot stores while shopping. The AI assistant complements the expertise of Home Depot associates by providing information tailored to each shopper's chosen store, making the shopping experience easier and more efficient.
According to Jordan Broggi, Home Depot's executive vice president of interconnected retail, 'Customers come to The Home Depot for expert guidance, and we know they want their shopping experience to be easy and efficient.'
Magic Apron takes the best of digital expertise and brings it into the physical store, creating a more connected shopping experience that helps customers find products, get project guidance, and make decisions faster. Associates remain at the center of the shopping experience, with Magic Apron giving them additional support.
