Homeless Man Spends Decades Living on Same LA Street, Finds His Own Way

Tim Roller has spent nearly two decades living on the same East Hollywood street in Los Angeles. The former math teacher and father of four has become a fixture, with Google's Street View cars regularly capturing his setup.

Roller has developed his own rules for surviving outdoors, including not eating where he sleeps to avoid attracting critters. He credits this strategy with helping him stay healthy despite living on the streets for so long.

Roller believes that providing small private rooms for people in need would be a more effective solution than traditional shelters. 'All you need is a bed,' he said, adding that other amenities are not necessary.
