Hon Hai's August Sales Soar 52% Amid Booming AI Server Demand
Nvidia's partner Hon Hai saw its sales climb by an impressive 52% in August, reaching NT$921.8 billion (approximately $29.1 billion). This growth far surpasses analyst expectations for the quarter and is a testament to the rising demand for AI servers.
The Taiwanese company assembles Nvidia's servers and has become a key player in the AI trade. Its monthly filings serve as a check-in point for the industry, and Hon Hai's revenue line continues to defy concerns about overcapacity, debt, and fierce competition.
The majority of Hon Hai's revenue comes from assembling AI servers, which now generate more income than its other business segments combined. The company's consumer electronics business, primarily driven by Apple's iPhone assembly, has been a concern for analysts as it dilutes the cloud momentum and leaves gross margins and forward price-to-earnings ratios below average.
Despite market skepticism, Hon Hai's order book continues to grow, with Europe set to contribute to this demand. The French state-owned computing firm Bull has partnered with Foxconn (Hon Hai) for a EUR 120 million manufacturing deal, which will see components and initial testing take place in the Czech Republic before final assembly at Bull's factory in France.
