Honeywell Aerospace Confronts Supply Chain Constraints Amid Strong Demand
Honeywell Aerospace President and Chief Executive Jim Currier spoke at the Jefferies Global Industrials Conference 2026, highlighting the company's transition from a subsidiary to an independent aerospace business.
Citing supply chain constraints as the main issue, Currier stated that demand remains strong across commercial transport, business aviation, and defense markets. However, he emphasized that the company's backlog stands above $18 billion and is up 9% year over year.
The central theme of the discussion was supply chain execution, with Currier describing the challenge as not demand, but rather delivering through a constrained supply base. He attributed this issue to a small group of suppliers in complex machining, castings, forgings, and bearings.
Honeywell Aerospace has invested more than $1 billion in its supply base since August 2023, with plans to invest at least as much again over the next couple of years. The company is also implementing direct CEO oversight, weekly supplier follow-up meetings, and capital support to unlock capacity.
