Honeywell Aerospace Overhauls Supply Chain Amid Production Challenges
Honeywell Aerospace is working to address supply chain shortcomings that have hindered its ability to meet customer orders. The company, which separated from Honeywell on June 29, found that around 2% of its 3,000 suppliers underperformed during the first six months of this year.
President and CEO James Currier acknowledged that he had underestimated the time it would take for corrective actions to yield results. To address the issue, the company is implementing process changes to gradually expand production capacity and resolving immediate bottlenecks.
Honeywell Aerospace is overhauling its supply chain by strengthening planning with suppliers and providing them with better insight into future demand. The company is also tying inventory planning more tightly to delivery timelines and increasing oversight of its supplier network.
The goal is to boost the flow of components, which should support capacity expansion for critical minerals in 2027 and bolster output growth. Senior Vice President and CFO Joshua Jepsen stated that Honeywell Aerospace is making substantial capital investments in supplier tooling to improve capacity and yields while cutting rework.
