Honeywell Aerospace to Pay $2.04M for Cybersecurity Failures

Honeywell Aerospace agreed to pay $2.04 million to settle allegations that it failed to comply with cybersecurity requirements tied to a U.S. Department of Defense contract.

The settlement resolves claims that from April 2020 through December 2023, a business unit of Honeywell International submitted false claims for payment by not meeting National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-171 requirements for one of its networks.

Rachel Tenney, a former Honeywell employee who filed the whistleblower lawsuit under the False Claims Act, will receive $375,823 as her share of the recovery.
