Honeywell Aerospace's Steady Guidance and Analyst Upgrade
Honeywell Aerospace's first-quarter sales growth and substantial order backlog have steadied its parent company's stock despite lower guidance for 2026. Honeywell Inc.'s shares were trading at $166.50 on August 21, 2026, after management reset full-year organic sales and EBITDA guidance due to supply chain bottlenecks.
The aerospace unit reported second-quarter 2026 sales of $4.52 billion, marking a 5% increase from the same period in 2025. Its order backlog stood at $18.2 billion by the end of the quarter, indicating strong demand across commercial, defense, and space end-markets.
However, management lowered its forecast for 2026 organic sales growth to 4-5%, down from a previous range of 7-9%. The expected pro forma standalone adjusted EBITDA was also reduced to $4.35 billion-$4.45 billion from a prior range of $4.65 billion-$4.75 billion.
The guidance reset weighed on sentiment initially, but subsequent analyst coverage suggests that the market reaction has been mixed. At least one major analyst upgraded Honeywell Aerospace's rating to 'overweight' with a $205 price target, indicating that the stock's post-sell-off valuation now better reflects its risk-reward profile.
