Honeywell Commercializes UT Austin's Advent Solvent for Carbon Capture
Honeywell is partnering with the University of Texas at Austin to commercialize their 'Advent Solvent' technology for more efficient post-combustion CO₂ capture. The licensing agreement grants Honeywell rights to deploy the patented amine-based solvent system through its Advanced Solvent Carbon Capture (ASCC) offering, targeting power plants and hard-to-abate industries.
As of mid-2026, this collaboration aims to make carbon capture more accessible and cost-effective for various sectors. The Advent Solvent technology is designed to capture CO₂ from the exhaust gases of fossil-fuel power plants, making it a crucial step in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
