Honeywell Fund Bolsters Local Scholarships with $25K Grant
The Friday Harbor Kiwanis Club has announced that the Honeywell Charitable Fund has awarded a $25,000 grant to support scholarships for local students pursuing traditional college degrees or trade school training in 2027.
This marks the twelfth year of the partnership between Kiwanis and the Honeywell Charitable Fund, which has resulted in over $195,000 in scholarships being awarded to 202 students. The organization has seen a growing interest in trade school programs, with 50% of all Kiwanis scholarships going to trade school students over the last three years.
Kiwanis Scholarship Chairman Jack Rice praised the Honeywell Charitable Fund's commitment to the island's youth, saying 'Our partnership continues to open doors for students of every path, academic or technical. Their commitment has changed lives, strengthened our workforce, and created opportunities that wouldn't exist without their support.'
