Honeywell Unveils Satellite Antenna for Beyond-Visual-Line Drone Control
Honeywell Aerospace has successfully tested its Iris antenna for beyond-visual-line drone control. The satellite communications antenna was developed at the company's research and development center in Brno, Czechia, through the European Space Agency (ESA) project.
The Iris antenna is designed to maintain command-and-control links with unmanned aircraft flying beyond an operator's visual line of sight. This technology enables U-space deconfliction, which is crucial for safe and efficient drone operations.
