Honeywell Upgrades Omni Taxi Aereo's AW139 Helicopters with Advanced Weather Radar

Honeywell Aerospace is equipping Omni Taxi Aereo's fleet of 33 Leonardo AW139 helicopters with its advanced IntuVue RDR-7000 weather radar. This upgrade aims to improve safety for offshore flights by providing pilots with a more comprehensive view of the weather conditions along their flight path.

The RDR-7000 is designed to continuously scan the atmosphere and build a three-dimensional view of the weather, allowing pilots to distinguish between overlapping systems and identify hazards such as turbulence, hail, lightning, and wind shear. The radar can operate as far as 320 nautical miles under favorable conditions.

The upgrade will benefit Omni Taxi Aereo's offshore operations, where weather conditions can change quickly and landing options are often limited. By providing pilots with more accurate and detailed information, the RDR-7000 will help reduce the risk of adverse weather conditions affecting their flights.
