Houston Witness Detained by ICE After Reporting Active Shooting
A Houston man who reported an active shooting to police was detained by ICE agents before the officers even finished their investigation, according to the Houston Police Department.
The witness called police after seeing a man firing a gun into the air outside a Home Depot on Bellaire Boulevard in Alief on Sunday.
HPD officers found the suspect and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, adding to his extensive criminal history of about a dozen prior arrests.
Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare said that when ICE grabs witnesses, it makes prosecuting cases much more difficult.
