Huang Downplays AI Fears as 'Hysterical'
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has dismissed concerns over the potential dangers of artificial intelligence (AI), calling them 'hysterical'.
In a recent speech at a Goldman Sachs conference, Huang stated that the industry is simply creating demand for new products by highlighting cybersecurity risks.
He also echoed his previous remarks made in an interview with Axios' Mike Allen, saying that fears about AI destroying humanity or wiping out jobs are 'complete nonsense'.
However, not everyone shares Huang's optimism. University of Michigan business professor Erik Gordon told Axios that while Huang may be genuinely a techno-optimist, his narrative is losing ground to the more fearful one.
Gordon also pointed out that Nvidia has a vested interest in downplaying AI concerns, as it would increase sales for the company's chips.
