Huang's Discount Advice Pays Off for Nvidia Investors
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently told investors in Seoul to 'buy at a discount' during the AI stock sell-off. The AI market was looking shaky two months ago, with Nvidia's stock down nearly 15% and other major players like Alphabet and Amazon also taking a hit.
Huang spoke to reporters between business meetings, including one that finalized a partnership with SK Hynix to design next-generation AI memory chips. He said investors should be 'very happy' about the current market conditions because it's an opportunity to buy at a discount.
Two months later, Nvidia's shares are up 5.1% since June 8, outperforming the S&P 500 by 0.8%. If investors had taken Huang's advice and bought a basket of AI stocks that included equal parts Nvidia, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, they would have seen even bigger returns.
Huang is looking years into the future, predicting solid long-term gains for AI companies. He believes the recent spending on AI is just the tip of the iceberg, and investors who hold onto their stocks for the long term will be rewarded.
