The company is accused of stealing technologies and funds from American companies to build its telecommunications empire, with U.S. prosecutor Taylor Stout calling it a 'criminal enterprise' that pursued American companies for 20 years.
Huawei allegedly conspired to steal trade secrets from five American companies, including the source code of Cisco's internet routers and T-Mobile's robotic arm used for phone testing.
The prosecution claims this theft was intended to give Huawei an unfair competitive advantage and help expand its business.
