Huawei and Xiaomi Unveil Foldable Rivals to Challenge Apple
Chinese tech giants Huawei and Xiaomi are gearing up to launch new foldable smartphones just days before Apple's highly anticipated unveiling of its first foldable iPhone.
Huawei will debut the Mate XT 2, a trifold smartphone featuring two folding mechanisms, on Monday. This device aims to merge the functionality of a conventional smartphone with a larger tablet-like display.
Xiaomi is also set to launch its Xiaomi 18 Fold, which resembles Apple's expected design and will run on Xiaomi's in-house Xring O3 processor and memory supplied by CXMT.
These launches highlight China's push for domestic smartphone technology and supply-chain independence. They are also intensifying competition ahead of Apple's entry into the foldable market.
