Hugging Face Unveils Open-Source Robot Amid Acquisition Rumors
Hugging Face has unveiled MicroDuck, an open-source robot that can walk, talk, and roller-skate. Co-founder and Chief Science Officer Thomas Wolf discussed the growing demand for robotics and open-source AI on Bloomberg Tech.
The company is selling roughly one MicroDuck every four seconds, according to Wolf. This surge in demand could be attributed to the increasing need for automation in various industries.
When asked about reports of a potential $13 billion deal between Hugging Face and Nvidia, Wolf declined to comment. However, he did mention that the company regularly receives acquisition and investment interest.
