Hutto Man Charged with Aggravated Assault After Home Depot Hatchet Attack
A 41-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault after attacking an elderly victim with a hatchet at The Home Depot in Hutto, Texas.
The incident occurred on August 14 around 5 p.m. when police responded to the store in the 600 block of West U.S. 79 after receiving a report of an aggravated assault in progress.
The victim, reportedly aged 78 or 79, was treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital by Williamson County Emergency Medical Services with critical but non-life-threatening injuries.
John Doyle Bauer, the suspect, was taken into custody about an hour after the incident and is currently held in the Williamson County Jail in Georgetown with a bond set at $150,000.
