Hyderabad Businessman Loses Rs 13 Lakh in Credit Card Fraud

A Hyderabad-based businessman fell victim to a sophisticated credit card scam while on a work trip in Vijayawada. The culprit made unauthorized transactions worth Rs 12.80 lakh on his American Express credit card, and attempted another Rs 2.50 lakh transaction that was blocked after the card was cancelled.

The businessman suspected that his email account may have been hacked, allowing the scammer to access and delete One-Time Password (OTP) and alert messages from the bank.

He quickly reported the fraud to American Express Customer Care and had his card blocked. The company provided him with a Complaint Reference Number, 26239154529.
