Hyperscaler Stocks Enter 'Violent' Period of Upside Repricing, Analyst Predicts
Rihard Jarc, an analyst who correctly predicted NVIDIA's growth in 2010, believes that Amazon, Google, and Microsoft are entering a 'violent' period of upside repricing.
Jarc argues that these hyperscalers have experienced significant price increases over the past week, with Amazon up 20.4%, Google up 12.5%, and Microsoft up 26.5% in just five trading days.
The analyst points out that these companies are burning through free cash flow due to increased capital expenditures (capex), which has more than doubled for all three names.
Despite this, Jarc believes that the multiples of these stocks do not look stretched enough to kill the trade. He notes that Alphabet trades at 17 times earnings with 82% cloud growth, Microsoft carries a P/E near 26 supported by 17.75% revenue growth and a $678 billion RPO backlog, and Amazon is the richest of the three at roughly 32 times earnings but AWS is compounding at 37%.
Jarc also highlights several forward catalysts for these companies, including Microsoft's Azure reaching $100 billion in annual revenue, Alphabet's Cloud backlog reaching $514 billion, and Amazon's AI and custom-chips businesses each eclipsing a $25 billion annualized run rate.
