Hyundai Teams with Nvidia on Autonomous Driving Software
Hyundai Motor Group is accelerating its autonomous driving plans, partnering with Nvidia to bring driver-assist systems to production vehicles in early 2028. The system, called Level 2+, will remain supervised, requiring drivers to stay attentive and responsible for monitoring the vehicle.
The partnership marks a significant step forward in Hyundai's autonomous driving ambitions, which also involve its proprietary Atria AI software. While Nvidia-based systems will reach production first, Atria AI-powered vehicles are targeted for the second half of 2029.
Hyundai is also investing in local parts sourcing, aiming to increase North American inventory from 60% to 80% by 2030. This move is expected to reduce logistics costs and mitigate regulatory exposure.
