IBM Aids Indonesian Journalists with AI-Powered Research Tool
IBM Indonesia recently hosted a free Agentic AI Coaching Clinic for journalists from leading media outlets in the country. The training session aimed to demonstrate how artificial intelligence (AI) can accelerate research, simplify content creation, and increase productivity in the editorial room.
The IBM team used IBM Bob, an AI-powered tool, to show how it can help draft news articles based on provided information and context. The AI can even upload drafts in real-time without requiring journalists to log into the Content Management System (CMS).
However, IBM emphasized that AI is meant to serve as a productivity aid, not replace human judgment. The role of journalists remains crucial in ensuring accuracy, fact-checking, and editorial decision-making.
Nazar Patria, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communication and Digital, echoed this sentiment, stating that AI lacks verification instincts and cannot determine information authenticity without human control.
