IBM Back in Canadian Bond Market After 14-Year Absence
International Business Machines Corp., commonly known as IBM, has returned to Canada's bond market for the first time in 14 years.
The tech company is issuing four- and eight-year notes through Bloomberg Terminal, according to a person familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified. This move marks a significant milestone in what has been a record year of issuance by foreign firms in Canada's bond market.
IBM raised C$500 million through a sale in 2012, its most recent deal in the currency according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
