IBM Clarifies Job Cuts at West Virginia Facility
IBM's workforce changes at its Rocket Center facility have been clarified by Adam Pratt, Director of Communications for IBM. Initially reported as a loss of 100 jobs, it is now clear that only less than 30 temporary positions will be ending due to the close of a specific contract.
The majority of affected employees have been reassigned to other contracts at the facility. According to Pratt, 'We have a number of roles across a range of positions and we’re always actively encouraging members of the community, including these colleagues whose temporary positions have come to an end, to learn more about those positions and if they see a spot where their skills and experience align with the needs that we have in these positions, to apply.'
IBM is actively hiring for open positions at the Rocket Center facility. The company is encouraging affected employees to explore available opportunities.
