IBM Consulting's Human Plus Digital Labor Business Model Gains Momentum
IBM Consulting Senior Vice President Mohamad Ali says his organization has created a 'human plus digital labor' business model that combines human expertise with AI agents.
The model, which Ali claims is at least 18 months ahead of its competitors, includes 6,000 AI agents and allows for the automation of tasks such as user story creation, code building, and testing.
Ali says this approach has enabled IBM Consulting to reach smaller customers and participate in the midmarket, where it can be more nimble due to smaller teams.
In an interview with CRN, Ali stated that by including human plus digital labor in its solutions, IBM was able to become the low-cost provider in a recent deal against offshore providers.
Ali also discussed how IBM Consulting has evolved for the AI era, building an 'uber harness' called IBM Consulting Advantage that abstracts digital workers and provides them with any stack of AI they could possibly want.
