IBM Country Club Property Remains Vacant Five Years After Demolition

The IBM Country Club property in New York has been vacant for five years since Broome County allocated $2 million to help redevelop it.

County Executive Jason Garnar announced plans to rebuild the site in July 2021, but demolition of the old buildings began in November 2022.

The project initially aimed to build a 75-unit apartment building on the nine-acre parcel, but that plan was eventually scrapped.

Town of Union Supervisor Robert Mack expressed concerns about developing family-type housing due to safety concerns along Watson Boulevard.
