Geeta Gurnani, Field CTO at IBM Technology in India and South Asia, recently spoke about the Agentic Operating Model, Architecting the AI-Ready BFSI enterprise. According to her, we are still in the early stages of the AI revolution, with technology advancing rapidly but operationalizing AI across the enterprise remaining a challenge.

Gurnani emphasized that the question is no longer whether AI is capable, but rather what it takes to operationalize AI so that it impacts both the top line and the bottom line. She explained that it's not about deploying one agent here and one agent there; instead, it's about transforming entire business processes with AI, agents, automation, and data working together.

However, as organizations scale their AI efforts, they often discover a hard truth: their data is not ready to be consumed by AI models. Gurnani pointed out that 99% of public AI models are trained on public data, leaving enterprise data largely untapped, where the real value lies.
