IBM-Lockheed Martin Quantum Hub Launches at ETH Zurich
IBM and Lockheed Martin have announced plans to establish a quantum innovation hub at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. The hub will be anchored by Switzerland's first IBM Quantum System Two, powered by an IBM Quantum Nighthawk processor.
The hub is expected to be operational by the end of 2026 and will provide Swiss industry, startups, and universities with access to the machine and IBM's cloud quantum fleet for work in chemistry, materials, optimization, and finance. ETH Zurich will also offer training through IBM's education network.
IBM and Lockheed Martin are expanding their joint research initiatives on quantum sensing and additive manufacturing. The collaboration aims to advance Switzerland's workforce and talent in these areas.
