IBM Reenters Visakhapatnam, Inaugurates Client Innovation Centre
IBM has returned to Visakhapatnam after six years, marking a significant development in the IT sector. The company inaugurated its 'Client Innovation Centre' on Wednesday, with Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh in attendance.
The centre is located in the Lansum Square building and commenced operations two months ago. IBM leased office space in the area after leaving Visakhapatnam during the YSRCP regime. The company had acquired a 25-acre plot on Rushikonda Hill-3 but returned part of it to the APIIC.
IBM is also playing a key role in the 'Quantum Valley' project being established in Amaravati. The company has registered with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), indicating plans to export products worth Rs 321 crore from the Visakhapatnam base over three years. This will create over 500 local job opportunities.
