International Business Machines (NYSE:IBM) shares rose by 1.6% during trading on Friday, reaching as high as $237.32 and closing at $237.0770.
The company traded approximately 4.75 million shares, a decline of 42% from its average session volume of 8.18 million shares.
IBM has been making moves to strengthen its position in AI governance and FinOps software with the preview of Apptio AI Value & ROI, a tool designed to track AI spending and connect it with business outcomes.
The firm also received FedRAMP Moderate authorization for Maximo Application Suite as a Service, allowing U.S. federal agencies to use its cloud-based asset-management tools in regulated environments.
