IBM Stock Bounces Back Above Key Support at $230
IBM stock continues to recover from its July sell-off, holding above the key $230 area despite a weak trading session on August 6.
The company's shares fell 1.06% to $233.43 on that day, but the decline came amid broader weakness in the U.S. equity market: the Dow Jones lost 0.85%, while the S&P 500 declined 0.18%.
According to traders, no new negative corporate catalyst emerged, suggesting that the pullback is more likely a period of short-term profit-taking after the recovery from July lows rather than a renewed wave of selling.
The previously outlined scenario has partially materialized: IBM shares broke above resistance near $230 and continued higher, approaching $240 but not yet reaching the $244 target.
