IBM Stock Moves Lower Amid Broader Market Uncertainty
IBM's stock price moved lower in Thursday's premarket session as traders weighed weakness in technology stocks against a steadier broader market.
The company, along with Lockheed Martin Corp., announced the establishment of a quantum innovation hub at ETH Zurich through an agreement with Switzerland's Federal Office for Defence Procurement.
The Swiss National Supercomputing Centre in Lugano will host Switzerland's first IBM Quantum System Two, which is expected to be deployed by the end of 2026 and will provide access to quantum computing for research in areas including materials science, optimization, and financial services.
IBM's stock currently trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of about 21.3 times, and analysts maintain a Buy consensus rating with an average price forecast of $258.
