IBM Stock Surges as Quantum Computing Presence Expands in Switzerland
IBM's stock rose by 3.38% on Thursday after the company expanded its quantum computing presence in Switzerland.
The company will operate a Quantum System Two, which is expected to be deployed at the Swiss National Supercomputing Center in Lugano before the end of 2026.
The system will use IBM's most advanced quantum processor, called Quantum Nighthawk, and will provide research expertise and access for businesses, academic institutions, and technology startups through ETH Zurich.
