IBM Taps New Partner for $5 Billion AI Security Bet

IBM has partnered with LTM to deploy its AI-powered security platform, Lightwell. The partnership comes after IBM committed $5 billion to Lightwell and related open-source security initiatives earlier this year.

The platform uses AI agents to find vulnerabilities, build patches, and test fixes, generating 7,500 patches in its first two weeks of operation. LTM will provide integration, validation, and DevSecOps support to enterprise customers, which is crucial for the platform's success.

IBM shares slipped by approximately 0.2% to $231.48 following the announcement, indicating that investors are still uncertain about the platform's ability to generate meaningful revenue quickly.
