IBM Teams Up with OpenAI to Bolster Enterprise AI Capabilities
IBM has announced a significant partnership with OpenAI to integrate its AI models into IBM Consulting's platform. This move comes weeks after CEO Arvind Krishna admitted that the company had not moved quickly enough in response to changing market conditions.
The partnership will see IBM deploy OpenAI's GPT-5.6, Codex, and ChatGPT Work into its consulting advantage, helping clients redesign workflows across finance, procurement, customer operations, and human resources. The companies will also work together on legacy application modernization and software development, aiming to simplify engineering processes and accelerate the development of digital products.
In addition, IBM will launch a dedicated OpenAI Practice with thousands of certified experts, trained through the OpenAI Partner Network. This move reflects the growing demand for practical AI applications in enterprises, according to Andy Baldwin, Global Senior Vice President of IBM Consulting.
