IBM Teams Up with OpenAI to Secure Enterprise AI Deployments
IBM has announced a partnership with OpenAI to bring the AI lab's frontier models to customers across various industries, including finance, government, telecom, and retail.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is expected to expand IBM's work on cybersecurity. The companies will launch an OpenAI unit within IBM's consulting team to train thousands of consultants on emerging AI technologies and associated cybersecurity threats.
IBM's consultants and engineers will work directly with customers to implement AI in complex workflows and regulated environments, focusing on helping businesses move beyond experimentation and into wider deployment.
The partnership includes the integration of OpenAI models, including GPT-5.6, alongside products such as Codex and ChatGPT Work, into IBM Consulting Advantage, the company's AI platform for consulting services.
