IBM Teams with OpenAI for Secure AI Deployments in Government and Enterprise
IBM has partnered with OpenAI to help organizations deploy secure artificial intelligence across core operations and complex workflows. The collaboration will focus on three key areas: transforming legacy operations into AI-ready workflows, application modernization and product development, and cybersecurity and AI risk management.
The partnership includes joint go-to-market initiatives and industry-specific AI solutions for sectors such as government, financial services, telecommunications, and retail, along with enterprise functions like procurement, finance, customer operations, and human resources.
IBM will integrate OpenAI's GPT-5.6 model, Codex, and ChatGPT Work into its AI delivery platform to help organizations redesign workflows and automate processes. The companies will also pair OpenAI's technology with IBM's industry and technology expertise to modernize legacy applications and accelerate software development.
The partnership builds on previous collaborations between IBM and OpenAI in the federal market, including a joint practice with Google Cloud to help government agencies move AI into production. OpenAI has also expanded its federal presence through partnerships with Booz Allen Hamilton, Accenture Federal Services, and Leidos.
